Supporting local schools with career skills
We’re proud to be supporting and inspiring students across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Coventry area through our Enterprise Advisor programme.
At E.ON, we’re proud to be helping the UK build a more sustainable future, and a key part of this work is helping future generations to build green careers. At E.ON, we’re leading the way through a variety of different initiatives which encourage and support more young people to do just that.
We’re committed to driving societal good in our local communities and are proud to be supporting and inspiring local students in the Nottingham, Derby and Coventry area through our Enterprise Advisor programme. Our Enterprise Advisor volunteers give their time and use their skills and business experience to help schools develop a strong careers programme to support all students with their entry into the world of work.
Radhika Sharma, Commercial Contract Analyst and one of our Enterprise Advisors, said: “It’s massively important to me that E.ON facilitates the ability for me to contribute to the local community. As part of the Enterprise Advisor programme, I’ve been partnered with a local school in Nottingham. I work with the school’s careers team to support their Year 10 and 11 students with everything from mock interviews, presentations, Q&A sessions and general insight into what working in the energy sector can bring.
“Helping young people understand the energy industry is incredibly rewarding. Unless people who work in our industry explain its scale and impact, young people won’t understand the amazing career opportunities it presents.”
And as a Cornerstone Employer, working with Department of Education, and local schools within the Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and Coventry areas, we provide career inspiration by helping to deliver careers fairs and mock interviews, whilst influencing curriculum change, allowing young people to be equipped with the skills to build meaningful careers.
