Renewing our partnership with Womens Utility Network

We’re proud to announce E.ON’s renewed partnership with the Womens Utilities Network (WUN) — a collaboration that continues to champion diversity, inclusion and the empowerment of women in the utilities sector.

Since its formation in 2018, the WUN has been a driving force for positive change in our industry, uniting women who share a passion for their work and a vision for greater equality and representation.

A shared vision for progress

The WUN was founded by five trailblazing women who saw the untapped potential of women’s contributions in utilities. They created a platform to inspire, connect and support women to achieve their professional goals and foster an inclusive environment across the sector. This mission aligns perfectly with E.ON’s values of diversity and inclusion, making our partnership a natural and meaningful fit.

Becky Percy, Diversity and Inclusion Lead at E.ON UK, said: "Diversity and inclusion are not just policies at E.ON; they are simply who we are and how we operate. Our continued partnership with Womens Utility Network is a testament to our commitment to empowering women and fostering a culture where everyone can thrive and contribute to shaping the future of utilities."

Jo Butlin, Co-founder and Director of WUN, said: “WUN are delighted to continue our strong partnership with E.ON UK. WUN’s focus is on providing women with tools, training and most importantly a broad, supportive network to help build enduring careers within the sector. It is great to help shine a light on those partners, like E.ON, who are providing real leadership in creating inclusive opportunities and cultures.”

We’re incredibly proud of our shared achievements so far with the Womens Utilities Network. One recent highlight was our feature on their podcast, where Becky Percy and Holly Beeston, a WUN advocate, shared insights into our diversity and inclusion journey. Their candid discussion showcased how E.ON’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace has made a tangible impact on our teams and the industry.

Plus, E.ON’s recognition as the Best Employer for Women at the Women in Utilities Awards underlines our dedication to empowering women in the workplace. This accolade reflects the strides we’ve made in creating a supportive and equitable environment where women can thrive in their careers.

Looking ahead

Renewing our partnership with WUN is not just a commitment; it’s a celebration of our ongoing journey towards inclusivity. Together, we aim to:

  • Empower women: Provide more opportunities for professional development, mentorship and networking within the industry.
  • Promote representation: Advocate for increased female representation in leadership roles and technical positions.
  • Inspire future generations: Encourage young women to consider careers in utilities through outreach and education.

We’re excited about the possibilities our renewed partnership will bring. By working together with WUN, we’re not just transforming our workplace – we’re setting a standard for the utilities sector and beyond.
