How we’ve celebrated this National Inclusion Week
We’re proud to be a leading employer focused on creating a workplace environment where everyone is comfortable to be their true and authentic selves at work.
We’ve taken many steps over the years to build an inclusive organisation where colleagues know they’re valued, respected and feel a sense of belonging so they can thrive and be at their best. We work hard to create an inclusive environment for all our colleagues and we’re proud to be a one of the UK’s Top 50 Inclusive Employers, currently ranked number eight in the list.
During National Inclusion Week, we’ve reflected on our diversity and inclusion achievements as well as the initiatives we’re still working on improving. From listening circles to networking events, our nine colleague-led inclusion networks have given all of our colleagues the opportunity to get involved and celebrate.
We’ve loved seeing our colleagues come together this week and get involved in the great activities our networks have organised. So we’re thrilled to share what just some of our colleagues who got involved as well as those who helped organise the events had to say.
Liz Warbrick, E.ON’s EVP and Inclusion Consultant: "It was so exciting to hear the buzz in the room this week and to see all our networks in one place making new connections with our colleagues. Bringing together all of these groups and talking about the change they have affected made me feel really proud."
Victor Chambers, Contact Centre Specialist Team Manager and embRace steerco member: "Being part of the embRace network has been so gratifying, especially getting involved as a mentor in the embRace Your Talent programme. It's been wonderful speaking to so many people this week and sharing the good news about everything we do."
Lisa James, Senior People Champion and Menopause Matters network chair: "It was great to be part of the National Inclusion Week activities spreading the awareness of support we offer to our Line Managers and Colleagues and changing the narrative on the topic of Menopause."
Stephen Evans, Industry Costing Manager in Energy Markets and Christian Network Chair: "We were overwhelmed by the interest that we had in the Christian Network. I've been involved in Christian groups at E.ON for the last 25 years and this has been the single most significant week in its history - so many people have come up to us and said 'I had no idea you existed!' We loved every second - what a privilege! So many positive conversations and 12 new members!"
Rachel Guest, Delivery Lead and Fertility Forum steerco member: "After talking to people about the support we offer for fertility, a lot of people said ‘we’re market leading with what we offer and it makes them feel proud to work for E.ON’."
While National Inclusion Week is a key moment to showcase our activities, our commitment extends beyond these seven days. Every day we’re working hard to make things better for our colleagues from introducing unlimited paid fertility leave for both partners to providing safe spaces for colleagues to connect and support each other and everything in between.
