Four in ten Brits are looking to do more to help those around them and buy more ethically in 2025
Find out how people are planning to change their habits for the better in 2025, according to our new research.
New year equals new year resolutions for many people. And our new research1 has revealed many people plan on helping those around them and the planet in 2025.
More than half of people (52%) say they plan on making changes in 2025. And four in ten (40%) people say they’ll be making an effort to do more for the people around them in 2025 – be that through volunteering, donating to charity, supporting community projects or looking out for vulnerable neighbours.
That caring steak continues when it comes to shopping, with almost half (45%) of people saying they plan to make more ethical shopping choices in 2025. That means buying local produce, avoiding fast fashion and only buying from companies with solid commitments to society and the planet.
And many are simply planning to cut back on buying too much stuff. Almost two-thirds (63%) of people say they’ll curb their purchasing to save money in 2025, and almost half (46%) say they’ll do the same because the overconsumption of consumer goods is bad for the environment.
Supporting our communities and doing right by society are key priorities for E.ON, E.ON Next and npower Business Solutions in 2025 and beyond. Together, we’re dedicated to supporting our customers and communities up and down the country in various ways, such as:
- Supporting for our most vulnerable customers through schemes like the E.ON Next Energy Fund and our Winter Support Scheme
- Providing direct community support through programs such as the npower Business Solutions Foundation
- Supporting our charity partner Mind, with more than £250,000 raised for the charity so far, helping their work to support people living with metal health issues
- And improving the sustainability, comfort and efficiency of homes across the nation through energy efficiency schemes and sustainable solutions.
We’re proud to help take society forward within our organisation too, through our actions every day. For example, we champion diversity and equality through our colleague-led inclusion networks and we’re proud to be one of the UK’s leading inclusive employers. And we’re also leading the charge to create the green workforce of tomorrow, including through our award winning apprenticeship schemes.
