Our commitment to mental health and extending our charity partnership with Mind

World Mental Health Day 2024’s theme is ‘It's time to prioritise mental health in the workplace’. At E.ON, we’re committed to making mental health a priority, ensuring our colleagues, and customers, are supported every step of the way.

Our ongoing commitment to mental health

We understand the importance of mental health and we’re pleased to announce the extension of our partnership with the mental health charity Mind until the end of 2026.

We know how important support is when it comes to mental health issues, including in the workplace, and as a business we’re dedicated to being part of the solution to the mental health crisis. By continuing our partnership with Mind for another two years, we aim to help the charity ensure that no mind is left behind.

Mind’s appreciation of our partnership

Andrew Berrie, Head of Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy at Mind, expressed his gratitude for the support shown by our colleagues’ fundraising efforts: “We’re so grateful that E.ON has chosen to support Mind for a further two years. I would like to personally say a huge thank you to all E.ON employees who have supported Mind throughout our partnership.

“It’s been amazing to see so many of you getting involved in awareness raising and fundraising for Mind. These efforts mean Mind can be there to support even more people who need us, at a time when demand is increasing. Thank you for helping us to move closer to a future where no mind is left behind, we couldn’t continue our vital work without you.”

Reflecting on our partnership so far

Mind has been our charity partner since January 2022 and was chosen by E.ON employees across the UK through a colleague vote.

Together we’ve made a significant impact on those who rely on Mind’s support and resources. Through skydives, samosa sales, cake sales or fundraising campaigns, we’ve so far raised over £250,000 — and we’re not slowing down.

These vital funds have been used to support Mind’s services, including Mind’s Infoline which provides confidential information and advice about mental health, its online peer support community ‘Side by Side’ and the campaigning the charity does to ensure that everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.

How E.ON is championing mental health

E.ON champions mental health by fostering a supportive workplace at its core. Our initiatives include flexible working policies, equal parental leave, and a 24/7 Employee Assistance Program. E.ON also promotes the importance of inclusion through colleague-led networks, provide caregiving resources, and raise awareness with external partnerships like Mind. These initiatives aim to create a balanced, inclusive environment that supports employee wellbeing and growth, so that every day is an important day when it comes to mental health.

We look forward to working with Mind and our colleagues to provide even more support for anyone experiencing a mental health problem over the coming years.
