npower Business Solutions (nBS), West Mercia Energy and education specialists ElevationX Ltd have announced a new partnership to deliver 'Power to Drive' STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) workshops to children across the UK.
The free STEM-based workshops will be delivered to Years 6, 7 and 8 pupils in schools and academies across the UK over the new academic year to enhance pupils’ STEM subject expertise, creativity and collaborative skills.
The workshops are designed to educate, inspire and engage young people in learning about electricity and energy, looking at how it is made and used, as well as the environmental and economic impacts of different sources. The workshops also cover maths and engineering skills, as students will build miniature electric cars to demonstrate the principles of gears.
Why should schools apply?

The workshops:
- will help students to develop their knowledge and skills in STEM subjects, as well as their creativity and teamwork
- will also raise awareness of the importance of renewable energy and the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition
- are free of charge and delivered by experienced and qualified educators

The Power to Drive workshops are available to education establishments that are customers of West Mercia Energy.
