Nottingham Forest Community Trust hosts wellbeing events for the people of Eastwood, Nottingham
Nottingham Forest Community Trust has hosted ‘Eastwood Together’ – two special wellbeing events designed to bring families and the community together for a healthier, happier future.
We all know that sport can help bring people and communities together and never has that been more evident than in Eastwood, Nottingham. Over the past two Sunday afternoons, Nottingham Forest Community Trust has held ‘Eastwood Together’ – special wellbeing events held to help bring families together and to promote health and happiness.
More than 200 attendees came along to the events at Eastwood Community Football Club, and – as one of Nottingham Forest’s key partners – we were proud to have our colleagues on hand to support with energy efficiency advice.
Promoting physical and mental wellbeing
At the heart of Nottingham Forest Community Trust’s mission is a commitment to promoting both physical and mental wellbeing. The event provided opportunities for attendees to access fun activities, essential resources, and practical advice to support their overall health and lifestyle.
As well as free healthy snacks, the events helped people find out more about pre-prepared cook-at-home meals that cost less than £5, offering valuable food education to help participants cook affordable, nutritious meals.
Tailored energy efficiency advice
Working closely with the Community Trust, E.ON and E.ON Next colleagues were on hand to provide tailored energy efficiency advice, focusing on saving money at home, how to heat your home efficiently, and addressing financial wellbeing.
They also handed out giveaways and provided information linking attendees to government-funded schemes to help make their homes more comfortable and more sustainable.
Our Energy Efficiency Advice Centre team spoke to attendees about practical energy-saving tips and advice aimed at reducing energy use and bills. Through conversations and the provision of accessible information, E.ON played a vital role in supporting people who may not otherwise have been exposed to such advice — particularly those facing challenges related to older age, unemployment, or ill health. Their support provided attendees with information on energy efficiency measures, promoting financial wellbeing and long-term savings.
Calum Osborne, CEO of Nottingham Forest Community Trust, said: "Eastwood Together is a fantastic example of how we can bring communities together to support health, wellbeing, and financial resilience. It was incredible to see over 200 people come together across two weekends, engaging in activities that promote healthier lifestyles while accessing vital resources and advice.
“E.ON’s presence added real value, helping families learn practical ways to manage energy costs and improve their financial wellbeing. Events like this are at the heart of what we do — creating opportunities that make a real difference in people’s lives."
Scott Somerville, Director of External Affairs at E.ON UK, said: “Sport can be a powerful way to connect communities. As a company with Nottingham and its people very much at our heart, it’s fantastic to be able to support events like these which clearly have a direct, positive impact on the local community.
"With thousands of our customers and colleagues living locally, it’s a real honour to be able to support this event and to have the opportunity to share our expertise in helping residents lower their energy use and bills, as part of our wider commitment to helping Nottingham Forest become more sustainable.”
At E.ON, we’re proud to be one of Nottingham Forest’s key partners, having been their Official Sustainability Partner since 2021 and continuing to help them champion sustainability in sports. What’s more, E.ON Next, is now the new Official Training Wear Partner and Women’s Front of Shirt Sponsor for the 24/25 season. And we’re proud to have been asked to support the Eastwood Together events.
Together, we‘re working to help make Nottingham Forest, and the city more broadly, a more sustainable, happier and healthier place to live.
