E.ON raises £250,000 for Mind, helping to support people living with mental health issues
E.ON has announced that, together with its colleagues, it has raised £250,000 for national mental health charity Mind.
E.ON has announced that, together with its colleagues, the company has raised £250,000 for national mental health charity Mind. E.ON has been working with the charity since 2022 as part of its wider commitment to wellbeing.
E.ON match funds colleague donations for Mind, supporting colleagues’ efforts and doubling their donations, helping even more people get the help they need with their mental health. This is important as one in four people will experience a mental health problem in a given year.
Hundreds of E.ON colleagues have been instrumental in helping raise money for Mind, from the extremes of marathons and skydives to the everyday, such as bake sales and group walks. E.ON’s Big Spring Clean earlier this year also raised over £8,000 in donations of bags of colleagues’ clothes to Mind shops across the country.
Jo Horton, ESG Manager at E.ON, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to support our charity partner Mind and to have reached the major milestone of raising £250,000 for their crucial work in supporting people facing mental health challenges.
“At E.ON, we’re committed to helping our colleagues and their families with their overall health and wellbeing, and it’s clear from their efforts and endeavours that our colleagues share our commitment to supporting Mind. A massive thank you to everyone who’s taken action to help raise awareness and funds, and we look forward to continuing to work with our partners at Mind, helping them support people across society in achieving and maintaining better mental health.”
Andrew Berry, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Mind, added: “To everyone at E.ON, I want to express a huge thank you for your incredible efforts and for raising an amazing £250,000 for Mind. From skydiving to bake sales, it’s been wonderful to see all the amazing ways E.ON colleagues have supported us.
“These efforts mean Mind can do even more to help people with mental health problems, at a time when demand is increasing. Our services provide advice and support for anyone experiencing a mental health problem, and it’s thanks to partners like you that we continue our vital work.”
Paul Orbell, Vendor and Quality Assurance Manager at E.ON Next, said: “I achieved a lifetime goal in May when I did my first half marathon in Birmingham, raising £647 for Mind. I’m now hooked and am planning to run the Chasewater half marathon in Staffordshire in September and the Birmingham half marathon again next year, as well as working up to running in the full London Marathon in 2026.
“I selected Mind as my chosen charity because E.ON will contribute towards the money I raise, and because I think everyone at some point in their life needs a little support with their mental health.”
The £250,000 E.ON has raised will help Mind's vital work continue, supporting areas such as Mind’s:
- ‘Infoline’ – a confidential helpline which offers support information, clarity, and comfort to people in need
- ‘Legal Line’ – a helpline which offers guidance on mental health law
- ‘Side by Side’ – an online peer-support community where anyone can join, talk and find support for their mental health, 24/7
- ‘Supported Self-Help’ – a free, six-week guided programme, where advisors give those needing support the materials to understand and manage their feelings
- National campaigns aimed at lobbying for better mental health care and services across England and Wales
