Customers save £14m on E.ON Next Pledge tariff
Prices cut for Next Pledge customers three times since launch (1). Collectively more than £14million saved by nearly 500,000 customers.
E.ON Next customers who have signed up to the pioneering E.ON Next Pledge tariff are collectively on track to have saved more than £14 million compared to the industry-wide price cap in the year since Pledge launched.
Since its launch in August 2023, in excess of 400,000 customers have signed up to E.ON Next’s pioneering tracker tariff which guarantees to always remain at least £50 below the industry-wide price cap. Importantly, as well as saving against the cap, Pledge customers have continued to benefit from falling prices, with E.ON Next cutting prices three times over the past year and passing through a total reduction of £411(1).
Julian Lennertz, Chief Commercial Officer of E.ON Next, said: “We’re really proud we’ve delivered this saving of over £14m for our customers in the last year alone. Whether it’s innovative game changing tariffs, new EV products or the latest in heat pumps, solar or home batteries, we’re 100% living up to our role as the playmaker in the energy transition – taking action to make things happen and help our customers by making new energy work.”
Next Pledge is a 12-month fixed term product currently priced at £1,518, which tracks the price cap and is priced £50 below the cap at average annual consumption(2). The price will change each quarter in line with price cap level changes which means if the cap falls so will Pledge. The tariff is available to both new and existing customers with payment via Direct Debit and comes without an exit fee.
Positive feedback has been received from many E.ON Next customers who are seeing the benefits of the tariff. Some of the five-star reviews include:
- Anthony described Next Pledge as a ‘game changer’ giving the tariff five stars on Trustpilot: “I was already on E.ON’s Next Pledge tracker. However, as I was an early adopter of this tariff it was due to run out. E.ON Next contacted me to say a new tariff essentially the same was available so I could extend the period of the tracker. It was simple enough to go online and change to that. Overall I am pleased with the effect of the tracker which follows the rise and fall of the price cap to maintain the lower price of my bill. ”
- Jenny also gave the tariff five Trustpilot stars, saying: “I’ve had fantastic customer service since my first query about moving to E.ON Next, this was really refreshing. Add to that the use of 100% renewable electricity and the pledge of the lower than price cap tariff that’s a no-brainer.”
