E.ON Next has announced free electricity on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day for all eligible new and existing customers who sign up to the Next Reward Days 18-month Fixed tariff by 18 December 2024.
E.ON Next will waive the electricity standing charge, and charge nothing for electricity used on 24, 25 and 26 December, regardless of how much electricity is used.
By opting for the Next Reward Days 18-month Fixed tariff, customers will also be locking in their rate, protecting themselves against potential price rises.
The new offer follows a recent promotion that offered three days of free electricity to customers who took out the E.ON Next Reward Days 12-month fixed tariff before 3 December.
According to statistics from the National Grid*, 65% of people in the UK spend five hours or more with electric gadgets on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Julian Lennertz, Chief Commercial Officer at E.ON Next, said: “It is fantastic news that we are able to expand our Free Electricity Days offer over the festive season, following on from the success of our recent 12-month Fixed tariff deal.
“By covering the cost of electricity over three days when energy use is high, we are helping eligible customers to enjoy their Christmas without having to worry about the impact of Christmas on their energy bills.
“We are all thrilled to be helping customers to watch their favourite festive film, plug in their new tech and to keep their Christmas lights shining.”
To be eligible, customers must have a smart meter, an online account and pay by Direct Debit.
E.ON Next recently announced a new partnership with the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity, the Woodland Trust. The energy supplier now automatically makes a donation to the charity on behalf of each customer who signs up to an E.ON Next fixed term tariff, including the Next Reward Days 18-month Fixed tariff, at no extra charge to the customer.
