Yet another partnership driving out-of-home charging
We're building the EV charging network our customers demand, and we’ve teamed up with MediaMarktSaturn - one of the leading electrical retailers in Europe - to deliver 300 state-of the-art fast charging points.
Building trust with consumers and car drivers is key if we are to get people to fully commit to the switch to electric vehicles.
As one of the largest charging providers and energy suppliers across Europe we’ve taken note of concerns from customers around the availability of public chargers and we’re working to address them by engaging more deeply in the public EV charging space, helping to ensure the infrastructure is in place and reliable.
That is why we’re installing around 300 new public charging points, supplied with 100% renewable electricity, at 80 of MediaMarktSaturn’s electronics stores across Germany.
Each store will be equipped with high power chargers with an output of up to 300 kW, meaning electric vehicle drivers could charge as much as 200km, that’s more than 124 miles, in just 10 minutes while shopping!
We’ve already started planning and building the first of these fast-charging stations, meaning customers will be able to rapidly charge their vehicles as early as this year. Not only making their stores more attractive, but making charging more faster and easier, while strengthening our E.ON Drive network.
E.ON Drive already operates one of the largest charging networks in Europe, with at least 1,000 new public fast charging points added every year. In the UK we’re building a network of ultra-fast charging stations with access to over 20,000 charge points via our E.ON Drive Comfort app, providing real time information to customers wherever their journey takes them.
This kind of infrastructure, supporting the electrification of transport, is one of the many ways we’re working towards a sustainable future as more and more drivers look for greener ways to travel.
