MEDIA ALERT: Customers reminded to submit meter reading ahead of Energy Price Cap increase
- E.ON Next is reminding customers to submit a meter reading within the next 10 days to avoid overpaying ahead of new Energy Price Cap
- Customers on the standard variable tariff (Next Flex) and who do not have a smart meter should submit their meter reading from five days before the price cap changes to five days after to avoid potential overpaying
E.ON Next is reminding customers on its standard variable tariff (Next Flex) to submit a meter reading to avoid potential overpaying when the Energy Price Cap rises on 1 January.
The energy regulator, Ofgem, recently announced the price cap for customers who use gas and electricity will increase to £1,738 per year for a typical household from 1 January.
Customers on a standard variable tariff, such as Next Flex, and who do not have a smart meter should submit a meter reading before 5 January to avoid the supplier having to estimate usage.
The quickest and easiest way for E.ON Next customers to submit a meter reading is through their online account.
Customers with a functioning smart meter do not need to send a reading, as readings are sent automatically and regularly.
Millions of customers are making the switch to smart meters to avoid having to take meter readings while also helping them budget and use energy more efficiently. Customers who would like a smart meter installed should contact E.ON Next to book a smart meter appointment.
