E.ON Next wraps up customers’ homes for winter with insulation scheme
Embrace the Great British Insulation Scheme
With the onset of November, E.ON Next is driving forward an initiative to encourage homeowners to prepare for winter by improving their insulation.
The Great British Insulation Scheme presents a valuable opportunity for customers to benefit from various insulation offerings – including free cavity wall insulation – as well as funding towards the cost of loft and underfloor insulation, and the upcoming room-in-roof insulation options. These are available to both E.ON Next customers and households that have their energy supplied by other suppliers, based on certain qualifying criteria that can be found at eonenergy.com/gbis.*
E.ON Next’s insulation solutions not only aim to stop heat escaping from homes, but also could help to reduce energy bills, thereby alleviating the financial burden many face with the rising price cap. With insulation playing a pivotal role in energy efficiency, E.ON Next is encouraging homeowners, social housing providers, private renters and their landlords who qualify for the scheme to take advantage of these offers.
Insulation options that save money and energy
E.ON Next is offering a comprehensive suite of insulation services designed to cater to various customer needs, including:
- Free cavity wall insulation: Eligible homeowners can access this service at no cost, ensuring their homes remain warm during the winter months. It will also help produce £240¹
of savings per year for a semi-detached home according to the Energy Savings Trust, helping to lower bills. - Virgin Loft Insulation 0-100mm with a contribution of £500: A crucial step in preventing heat loss, loft insulation can significantly lower energy bills. According to the Energy Saving Trust, homeowners can expect the scheme to help them make average savings of around £230² annually for a typical three-bedroom semi-detached house with cavity wall insulation.³
- Funding towards Underfloor Insulation: E.ON Next is providing funding towards underfloor insulation to make it more affordable and using the latest tech working with our partner QBOT
- Funding towards Room-in-Roof Insulation: Launching in mid-November, this new offering will further help customers optimise their home heating.
By investing in insulation, customers not only improve comfort but also contribute to lowering their carbon footprint, making a positive impact on the environment. Our value proposition
- Free energy saving advice: Our advice centre experts provide personalised guidance on additional measures to maximise energy savings and reduce residents’ carbon footprint.
- Heating controls: A potential add-on for eligible residents. Residents can take control of their energy usage with intuitive technology that optimises heating schedules and adapts their lifestyles – at no cost.
- Ventilation – going above and beyond: Residents will have the peace of mind that our installation partners will ensure that any ventilation solution adheres to the official efficiency measure installation standard in the UK – this includes a complete ventilation solution where applicable that improves comfort, protects against moisture damage and enhances indoor air quality.
- Energy efficiency made easy for landlords / social housing : Through working with partners we aim to help landlords and social housing providers fund insulation measures for their tenants.
Addressing common misconceptions
Despite the clear benefits, many customers remain sceptical about the availability and effectiveness of these insulation options. Some worry about potential mould and condensation, but E.ON Next assures that all installations include necessary ventilation measures to prevent such issues.
Phil Gilbert, Director of Net Zero Delivery said: “Our free cavity wall insulation, coupled with additional funding options for other insulation measures, offers a comprehensive approach to keeping homes warm this winter.”
Comprehensive support and assurance
E.ON prides itself on delivering an end-to-end service through a trusted network of accredited, government-approved installers. This includes not only installation but also personalised energy-saving advice.
With every cavity wall insulation installation, customers receive a 25-year guarantee, while loft insulation comes with a two-year guarantee, ensuring peace of mind. Additionally, E.ON will install any required ventilation solutions as part of the insulation package, enhancing indoor air quality and comfort.
For those on low income and who own their own home, residents may also qualify for heating control technologies that optimise their energy usage and adapt to their lifestyles at no extra cost.
Making energy efficiency accessible for everyone
E.ON’s commitment to promoting energy efficiency extends to landlords as well. Through partnerships with organisations like helpthemove, E.ON aims to help landlords manage the costs of insulation, making it easier for them to provide energy-efficient homes.
In a market where many energy companies offer insulation services, E.ON stands out with its comprehensive support and commitment to customer education. As the winter months approach, E.ON is dedicated to helping customers make informed decisions that will lead to warmer homes and lower energy bills.
Conclusion
As winter draws near, E.ON Next encourages all homeowners to explore their insulation options and take proactive steps towards energy efficiency. With a variety of services designed to meet diverse needs, E.ON Next is helping customers navigate the challenges of rising energy costs and create comfortable living spaces.
