E.ON Next offers eight days of free Bank Holiday electricity for the next year

  • Eight days of free electricity for new and existing customers who take out E.ON Next’s Pledge tariff between 20 and 26 February.
  • Customers pay nothing for electricity used on eight Bank Holidays falling between 1 April 2025 and 31 March 2026.

E.ON Next is giving new and existing customers eight days of free electricity when they sign up to a new offer before 26 February. Through the E.ON Next Pledge tariff, customers can now get more than a day off over the Bank Holidays.

The Pledge Free Bank Holidays offer is in addition to the £50 saving a typical household makes through the E.ON Next’s tracker tariff, which always remains below the Energy Price Cap.

Next Pledge – the UK’s first tracker tariff of its kind – is a 12-month fixed term product, currently priced at £1,688 for average annual consumption. The price changes each quarter in line with the cap – meaning if the cap falls, so does the tariff.

The promotion comes as the energy regulator, Ofgem, is expected to announce an increase to the Energy Price Cap for Q2 on 25 February.

Julian Lennertz, Chief Commercial Officer of E.ON Next, said: “It’s widely anticipated that the Energy Price Cap will rise again in April, which will be concerning to households, and especially those already struggling to pay their bills.

“Beyond the savings customers already make through the Next Pledge tracker tariff, which is designed to remain below the price cap, we are pleased to be providing some extra help, particularly to those who may use more electricity than normal over the Bank Holidays.”

Next Pledge v7 is available to new and existing customers with payment via Direct Debit and has no exit fees. The free electricity will be issued as a bill credit to the customer’s account.

Prices and comparisons quoted correct at time of issue and based on an average dual fuel bill using OFGEMs definitions of medium use typical domestic consumption values of 2700kWh for electricity and 11500kWh for gas.

Notes to editors

Next Pledge is priced £50 below the price cap at average annual consumption of 2,700 kWh for electricity and 11,500 kWh for gas. The price is based on average annual dual fuel use and will differ according to consumption. Customers need to pay by Direct Debit and agree to have a smart meter installed where eligible.

Next Pledge Free Bank Holidays customers are expected to save £3.50 per Bank Holiday day (a potential additional saving of £28 if remaining on the tariff for the full year), based on the Next Christmas Free Electricity Days promotion.
