E.ON in the UK – including E.ON Next, npower Business Solutions, and E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions – has been named the Best Place to Work for 16 to 34-year-olds in the UK and ranked among the Top 10 Best Places to Work overall by The Sunday Times.
The recognition, based on employee feedback for The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2025 survey, reflects E.ON’s commitment across its UK businesses to create an inclusive and purpose-driven environment, with a strong emphasis on continuous learning and skills development.
From digital tools that simplify energy choices, to energy upgrades in hospitals, and a pioneering home battery trial in Coventry – which is helping households save up to £300 on energy bills – E.ON colleagues are delivering customer-focused solutions to drive the UK’s energy transition.
And that people-first approach is also reflected in customer satisfaction, with E.ON Next rated 4.5 out of 5 as “Excellent” on Trustpilot, proving that performance and purpose go hand in hand.
Chris Norbury, Chief Executive of E.ON UK, said: “We’ve always said that people are our greatest energy source – and this recognition proves it.
“Whether they’re working with households, hospitals or high streets, our colleagues bring care, commitment and creativity to everything they do.
“I’m proud to be part of a team that’s showing what’s possible when you combine positive culture with real purpose. This isn’t just a great place to work – it’s a great place to grow and to deliver for the country.
“So, thank you – to our energising playmakers for making E.ON one of the UK’s best places to work, and to our customers for trusting us to power your homes, businesses and communities.”
E.ON’s thriving workplace in the UK is backed by long-term investment in the country’s energy future, with £2 billion committed this decade, and over £700 million already deployed to digitalise the energy system, create secure, skilled jobs, and accelerate the journey to net zero.
Since 2018, more than 1,300 new and existing colleagues have taken part in over 90 apprenticeship programmes, ranging from intermediate to higher and degree level, offering apprentices a thorough and fulfilling learning experience and providing a strong foundation for long-term careers. E.ON’s UK workforce has also grown by around 1,500 roles since 2023.
At the heart of this is the Net Zero Academy – a national centre of excellence delivering green skills at scale. It supports not only the development of E.ON Next’s future talent but also provides training and accreditation across the wider energy supply chain.
